Dr. Ong is a doctor with more than 20 years of experience and has been a Cardiology Consultant for 17 years. His area of subspecialty is in coronary artery angioplasty and stenting including complex coronary interventions. He obtained his post-graduate qualifications in 2004 namely the MRCP (UK) and the Masters of Medicine from NUS. He was accredited a Specialist in Cardiology in 2008. Subsequently he was awarded an overseas training at the renowned Siegburg Heart Centre, Germany. During this time, he was trained in coronary interventions and in structural heart interventions such as transcatheter aortic valve replacement, percutaneous mitral valve repair and left atrial appendage occlusion. Dr. Ong’s passion is for holistic patient care, treating not just the disease but the patient. He also brings with him extensive training and experience in the latest cutting edge technologies in the field of interventional cardiology.
